Quorum Engine Ensemble

Five opinions instead of one: several independent sub-strategies assess the situation, and it only trades with a sufficient majority. Whoever was wrong recently gets less weight — so the ensemble shifts towards what is working right now.

How the bot thinksDiagram

How it works

The five votes
Each expert looks at a different aspect and votes for buy, sell or wait. The votes come about independently of each other.
The majority
It only trades from a set number of votes pointing the same way. Three out of five produce more trades, four out of five fewer but more convinced ones.
The weights
Whoever was right gets more weight; whoever was wrong, less. That way the ensemble slowly shifts towards what holds up in the current market phase.

What you set

SettingMeaning
Majority thresholdHow many of the five have to agree
Adjustment speedHow fast the weights shift after hits and misses
Stop and targetControlled by volatility, as with the Scout
TimeframeOn which level the experts calculate

Everything through forms — no code. Backtest and the Top 50 optimizer run at the push of a button.

What it is built for

  • Changing market phases in which sometimes one thing works, sometimes the other
  • If you do not want to commit to a single approach
  • As a calmer alternative to a single, aggressively optimised bot

When it does not work

  • The adjustment lags behind. The weights only shift after an approach has been wrong several times. So in a turning phase the ensemble pays to learn.
  • Threshold too high. If you demand four or five out of five votes, a trade almost never comes about.
  • Similar experts. If several sub-strategies essentially measure the same thing, the majority is worth less than it looks.
No bot always wins. Each of the eight has market phases in which it loses — that is why the box on the right is on this page at all. That is exactly what the demo account is for: let it run until you have seen a bad phase, not just a good one.
