Pitfalls

The cases that really happen — each with its cause, not just a tip. In most of them the behaviour is correct and only looks wrong.

Bots

My bot has not traded for hours

Usually that is right. Most strategies wait most of the time and only enter when several conditions fit at once. A bot that trades all the time is rather a warning sign.

You can check in the System logs tab below the chart: it says what it is rating right now and why it does not enter. If there is nothing at all, check on the bot card on the right whether it really is set to active.

Three common setting causes: the Konfidenz (Score) is set so high that it is practically never reached; the Cooldown (s) is very long; or Max. parallele Positionen is already used up.

The backtest looked good, live it does the opposite

That is the most common case of all, and it almost always has the same cause: overfitting. Anyone who tries many combinations inevitably finds some that look good in hindsight — even by pure chance. What was found then is not a strategy but the past of this one market.

Cross-check: let the same setting run on three or four other markets. If it collapses everywhere except on that one, you know. This is explained in detail on Backtest & optimizer.

My bot account shows an absurdly high loss

Check how many bots in total are still set to active. Old test runs that were created and forgotten keep calculating in the background — and their open book value goes into the total. Twenty forgotten test bots quickly add up to a number that looks like a disaster.

Remedy: stop bots you no longer need, or empty the bot account in the area below the chart. Your own trading account is not affected — they are two separate accounts.

Positions

Liquidated although a stop was set

Then the liquidation price was before your stop. A stop only helps if the price reaches it before the margin is used up — otherwise the forced close comes first and the stop is never triggered.

The calculation is simple: the distance to liquidation is the inverse of your leverage. At 20× that is 5 %, at 50× only 2 %. A stop at 8 % is therefore useless at 20× — it lies beyond the liquidation.

The liquidation price is always shown on the open position. Always put the stop before it. You can play this through in the risk calculator.

My limit order is sitting there and is not filled

A limit order is only filled when the price crosses it. If it is on the wrong side of the current price — a buy above the market or a sell below it — it may wait forever.

By the way, the margin is not yet committed for a waiting order, only when it is filled. That is why you do not see a difference in the balance at first. You can cancel it in the Limit orders tab below the chart.

I set partial profits, but the stop is gone

Partial-profit levels and a single target exclude each other — when the levels are created, a previously set single target is removed. That is intended, otherwise two rules would be responsible for the same position at once.

The stop stays in place and keeps applying to the rest of the position. When a partial-profit level is triggered, the position gets smaller and part of the margin is released; the stop then acts on what is left.

Chart and data

With seconds timeframes the chart is empty or full of holes

Two possible reasons. First: the seconds levels are built from real individual trades and kept for 30 days. Further back they do not exist — there you are better off starting at one minute.

Second: in a very calm market there are seconds without a single trade. Then there is no candle there either — that is not an error but the truth about that market.

A coin is missing or its row is greyed out

Not every market is listed on both exchanges. If a row in the watchlist is greyed out, no fresh prices are coming in for it from the currently selected source. Switch between MEXC and BINANCE at the top — often the row is back then.

Some markets are also discontinued permanently by an exchange. The history then remains, but no new prices come in.

The volume bars look completely different for the two sources

That is correct and cannot be fixed: the two exchanges count volume in different units — MEXC in contracts, Binance in the base currency. That is why they are kept separate and never mixed.

So for comparisons stay within one source. For the live chart MEXC is the right choice, for long look-backs Binance.

There is a gap in the history

If the connection to an exchange drops, the minute candles are fetched automatically the next morning — a reconciliation runs daily for that. For candles from one minute up, a gap therefore closes by itself.

The individual trades of that time, however, are gone for good; there is no way to query them afterwards. Only the seconds levels are affected, and only for the length of the outage.

Account and interface

My layout is gone after logging in again

The arrangement used last is saved on the server and should survive a cleared browser cache. If the single view still appears, no saved version existed yet.

To be on the safe side, use a named layout under Workspaces — you can load it deliberately at any time.

The confirmation email does not arrive

First check your spam folder. It is sent through our own mail server and ends up there at first with some providers.

If it is not there either, send me a short note at info@foundlux.de — I will then activate the account by hand.

A change does not show up in the browser

Do a hard reload once with Ctrl + F5 — that bypasses the browser's cache. On the phone: close the page and open it again.

I just want to start over

In the area below the chart, the trading account and the bot account can be reset separately. So you can throw away a botched bot test series without losing your own trading history — or the other way round. It is not real money; a fresh start costs you nothing.
