Confluence Engine Indicator bundling

The Confluence Engine does not rely on a single indicator. It combines MACD, RSI and the Ehlers SuperSmoother into one number — the score. It only trades when this score crosses a threshold.

How the bot thinksDiagram

How it works

The score
Each indicator makes a contribution. The sum gives the score. A single twitch is therefore not enough — several have to point the same way.
The trend filter
In addition, the next higher timeframe is checked. If it points down, buy signals from the small timeframe are discarded.
The time stop
A position that has reached neither target nor stop after a set number of candles is closed. Otherwise it just ties up margin without making up its mind.

What you set

SettingMeaning
TimeframeOn which level entries are searched for — eleven to choose from
ThresholdHow clear the score has to be before it trades
Stop and targetAs a percentage of the entry
Time stopAfter how many candles without a decision it closes
Cool-downMinimum gap between two entries

Everything through forms — no code. Backtest and the Top 50 optimizer run at the push of a button.

What it is built for

  • Clear impulse moves in which several indicators take part
  • If you want to filter out false signals from single indicators
  • Together with the optimizer, which searches the parameters systematically

When it does not work

  • Sideways markets. There all three indicators produce false signals, and bundling helps little because they are wrong together.
  • Over-optimisation. Precisely because the optimizer can test very many combinations, the temptation to hit the past perfectly is great. That is exactly what then fails in the present.
  • Sudden news. Indicators calculate from the past. A price jump out of nowhere catches every one of them unprepared.
No bot always wins. Each of the eight has market phases in which it loses — that is why the box on the right is on this page at all. That is exactly what the demo account is for: let it run until you have seen a bad phase, not just a good one.
Step by step

How to set it up

Real recordings from the bot setup — beginner, demo account. Logged in, you see the detailed version with every field and tips.

  1. 1Choose a bot

Confluence Engine — indicators have to agree

Click the robot button at the top, then pick this bot in the bot window.

  2. 2Question 1 · What to trade?

    Coin, timeframe, direction

Coin and timeframe, plus the direction: auto, long or short.

  3. 3Question 2 · How much?

    Margin, leverage, buffer

Own margin, leverage, extra margin — below it the setup calculates volume, liquidation and committed money.

  4. 4Question 3 · How to trade?

How much do the indicators have to agree?

    Three presets: Safe (4h, score ≥ 4), Balanced (4h, score ≥ 3), Calm (12h, score ≥ 3).

  5. 5Question 4 · When to get out?

    Target, stop, time

    Take-profit, stop-loss, trailing and a time stop.

  6. 6Question 5 · Test first

One click runs all the numbers

Pick a period, then one button calculates fact sheet, backtest and basket — with costs as measured live.

  7. 7The verdict

One sentence that tells you where things stand

At the top one sentence: does the setting hold or not. Below it the fact sheet with all the numbers.

  8. 8The basket

The same setting on twelve coins

If it only works on one market, you will see it here — before real money is involved.

  9. 9Question 6 · Start

You start exactly what was tested

As a demo bot with play money — or live through your own exchange keys, with confirmation, emergency stop and limits.
